When I came to, I wasn't sure where I was. All I could initially tell about its appearance was that it was bright, clean and white. I knew what happened to me earlier, so I could only guess that this was the afterlife or at least the first stage to whatever lay beyond. People were lined up and resting on benches, awaiting their final judgment. With nothing better to do, I sat down next to a guy who was holding his own head in his hands.

"Hi there," said the man. "Just got here?"

"Yeah," I replied. "You?"

"A few hours ago," he said. "I guess you can figure out how I died."

"It was a little obvious," I remarked. "How come your head didn't get reattached when you died?"

"I think it's mental," said the man. "A lot of people here look like they think they did as a result of their deaths. I think they either patch you up when you get in or there's some mental block you have to undo. For example, look at her."

He pointed over to a girl who looked like she was two-dimensional.

"Steamroller?" I asked.

"That's the theory," said the man. "What about you? You look healthy enough."

"That's 'cause I don't fully know what I looked like after my death. Here's my mark, though."

I pointed to my neck, which had several puncture wounds on it.

"Vampire?" he asked.

"Sort of," I said.

I was out on a nature hike that day. I always enjoyed going out and exploring the wilderness, getting away from it all. That day, as I was walking along, I thought I heard an odd sound coming a little ways away. I couldn't help but wonder what it was, so I followed the sound into a small cave that was nearby.

A little way into the cave, I looked up and saw where the sound was coming from. Having from the ceiling of the cave was a large cocoon, clearly in the shape of a person. A girl could be heard inside of it, screaming and squirming in her prison.

Initially, I was frozen for a moment. I had never seen something like this before and it was rather frightening to behold. I shook it off and decided I needed to call someone for help about this. As I reached for my cell phone, that's when it came out of the shadows of the cave.

It looked like another girl at first with long blue hair, red eyes and with nothing but a green strip over her breasts. However, everything below her stomach was a giant spider thorax with a set of eight legs holding her up. As soon as our eyes met, a wicked grin spread across her face and she licked her lips.

She quickly started after me and I was equally quick to turn to run. I hoped that I could outrun her, but I was surprised when I felt a large rock smack into the back of my head that she threw at me. It knocked me off balance for just a second, which the creature used to catch up and grab me. She bit me right on the neck and I felt fangs pierce right into my flesh. As I attempted to struggle free, my body grew weaker and weaker until I fell limp.

The creature smiled at me. Webbing began to flow out of her thorax as she laid me on the floor. Once she had a nice pile, she picked it up and began to wrap it around me tightly, pining my arms and legs together. My eyes barely opened, I watched as she wrapped her webbing all over me and covered up to my head. Once I was wrapped up, she hauled me up and strung me up to the top of the cave by my feet. I could hear her scuttling out of the cave as the helplessness of my situation was grasped.

But that wasn't it. Over the course of the day, two other female voices were heard in addition to the first. I could tell when I heard it scuttle back in and eventually more muffled voices began crying out. The creature had found herself more prey during the day. Never feeling so helpless and depressed, I just whimpered quietly that night and wondered why this was happening.

--

The next few days were an unpleasant blur for me. My body ached badly from being immobile all the time and my stretching did little to relieve the tension. I didn't get any food or water the entire time either, so I got too weak to do much more than wiggle a little after a while. The odor I developed didn't help matters any.

But for all my problems, what hurt the most were the sounds of the other girls. Their cries and muffled squirming were the most constant sound in those caverns and knowing they were going to meet the same end as me was heartbreaking. And each day, there was one less cry to listen to.

The worst was when the creature fed. Each time she began feeding, one of the girls would begin to scream horribly and then suddenly fall silent. The rest of us would freeze up when that scream was heard. All that would be heard was this sucking sound as she feed. I was never so glad to be blindfolded.

I was the last one. I knew it the day the last girl went silent. I was so scared, I didn't try to struggle or cry out at all the rest of the day. All I could do was sit there and think about what would happen. Would it be quick? How bad would it hurt? I was so lucky to get some sleep and keep my mind off that for just a few hours.

I guess I slept later than I thought because the creature woke me up. I felt her fangs in my neck again and a searing corrosive liquid pumped into me. I shrieked in pain as the liquid ate through me, but it was only for a moment when it hit my spinal cord and things went black. After that…nothing.

"You all right?" asked the man next to me. "You just started staring off into space right there."

"Hmm? Oh, sorry. I was lost in thought," I replied.

"Don't worry about it," he said. "We've got plenty of time to think here. For eternal judgment, they sure take their time getting to everyone."

Deciding to relax a bit, I leaned back on my bench and waited. As I did, my thoughts kept going back to the spider-woman who sent me here. Part of me hoped she'd be here before it was my time, so I could see her get what she deserved.
Another different take on my usual wares, we have a first-person perspective on what would happen if a girl were wrapped up by a spider-woman and eaten. You could almost call it a mild deconstruction of the fantasy, considering it would really suck. But I imagine most people would already know that.

For those curious, this story takes place directly after the "Sapphire's Night" comic. Yes, that means the girls here are the ones who got wrapped up by here.

Yeah, deconstruction is a good description. Yet the mildly comic start keeps it from being truly horrific. I like it.
